The Travelers Palm (Ravenala Madagascariensis) is more like a cross between a palm tree and a banana tree than a true palm tree. They received their name as a result of their unique ability to collect rainwater in the bracts of their flowers, which could be useful for thirsty travelers in need of a drink!
The Madagascar-native Travellers Palm can reach heights of 9 to 18 meters, and is distinguished by its enormous fan-shaped leaves and year-round appearance of cream-white flowers. In the landscape, in garden beds, or in any outdoor gardening, they might be very simple to maintain.
Because this plant dislikes the hot wind of the UAE, location should be carefully considered. Plant them near walls, in a tree’s canopy, or in a wind-protected area. Every alternate morning in the summer and once per week in the winter, give Ravenala a nice shower.
With our potted traveler’s palm or Ravenala Plant, you can bring a little bit of the tropics into your house.
Traveller’s palm is Easy to take care of. These palm trees could survive and thrive in full sunlight. Give them enough water so that they are moist but not soggy. They require well-drained soil where they are to be planted. Temperatures below (-6.67) degrees Celsius are intolerable for these palm plants. Also when feeding, you can use any organic fertilizers.
